Junior Cricket

Our Junior section provides opportunities for young people between the ages of six and fifteen to receive coaching and competition in Bucks Cricket Board Junior Leagues and Cups. All coaching is provided by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.

The club attained ECB Clubmark accreditation in 2013 and re-certified again in 2018. ECB Clubmark is the ECB’s club accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. ECB Clubmark sets out required standards across four areas: Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children; the Cricket Programme the club offers, Knowing your club and its Community – One Game and Club Management. Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.

We welcome parents and carers or guardians to all training and competitions and value your support.  We are keen to try and involve parents, carers and guardians in the club – if you want to help out please let us know, there is lots to be done and don’t worry if you don’t know much about cricket – we need help in lots of areas!

Below is some information about training times and dates, and details regarding travel arrangements, kit and membership. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome!

2026 Training Plan and Membership

Summer training sessions take place either on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday evening depending on the age group. Membership for these age groups is £85 for the first child and £75 for a second child. The sessions will start in the week commencing 13th April and the last sessions will be in the week commencing 13th July.

Years 4 to 12 are entered into the Bucks Junior Cricket League and Cup matches. Matches take place on mid-week evenings or Sunday mornings.

The coaching times are now:

Girls

Year 2/3 – Friday 18:15 to 19:15
Year 4/5 – Friday 17:45 to 18:45
Year 6/7/8 – Friday 18:15 to 19:15

Boys

Year 2/3 – Friday 18:00 to 19:00
Year 4 – Friday 18:15 to 19:15
Year 5 – Friday 18:00 to 19:00
Year 6 – Friday 19:00 to 20:00
Year 7/8 – Friday 19:00 to 20:00
Years 9/10 – Monday 18:00 to 19:00
Years 11-13 – Wednesday 18:30 to 20:30

Mixed

Year 1 – Friday 18:00 to 18:45

As a rule we would like all parents to attend training sessions and remain there for the whole session. 

If you are unable to attend then arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and matches. We would appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session. If they are making their own way home, please ensure the relevant colts manager is informed.

Membership

This includes coaching sessions, membership to the club, match fees (where relevant), coaching equipment and one FREE social membership for a parent or guardian. All memberships need to be subscribed online.
