Our Junior section provides opportunities for young people between the ages of six and fifteen to receive coaching and competition in Bucks Cricket Board Junior Leagues and Cups. All coaching is provided by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.
The club attained ECB Clubmark accreditation in 2013 and re-certified again in 2018. ECB Clubmark is the ECB’s club accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. ECB Clubmark sets out required standards across four areas: Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children; the Cricket Programme the club offers, Knowing your club and its Community – One Game and Club Management. Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
We welcome parents and carers or guardians to all training and competitions and value your support. We are keen to try and involve parents, carers and guardians in the club – if you want to help out please let us know, there is lots to be done and don’t worry if you don’t know much about cricket – we need help in lots of areas!
Below is some information about training times and dates, and details regarding travel arrangements, kit and membership. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome!
2019 Training Plan and Matches
We will run winter sessions on Sunday afternoons in March (3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st), please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Summer training sessions take place on a mid-week evening for all age groups. Matches then take place on mid-week evenings or Sundays. Our provisional training slots are below:
Year 1 – 2 – Friday 1815 to 1915
Year 3 – 6 – Friday 1800 to 1930
Year 7 – 8 – Thursday 1800 to 1930
Training will begin on the last weekend in April and run through until the end of July. We will endeavor to run sessions in August but this will depend on numbers due to the holiday season.
As a rule we would like all parents to attend training sessions and remain there for the whole session. However when you are unable to attend arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and matches. We would appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session. If they are making their own way home, please ensure the relevant colts manager is informed.
This year the total cost of Junior cricket is £80. This includes coaching sessions, membership to the club, match fees, coaching equipment and one FREE social membership for a parent or guardian. All memberships need to be subscribed online.
