Squash Court Fund Appeal
As many of you may know we are looking to upgrade the squash facilities at the club. Stage 1 was the new glass doors, Stage 2 was to cover the major refurbishment involving:- a new roof, new walls and Tins for both courts, an overhaul of the balcony and entrance hall, plus an upgrade to the changing rooms .
Unfortunately we were not successful in the large grant application so we have decided to rethink how we fund the roof replacement and do this as a stage 3.
The good news is we still have raised £10,000 from other grants, so we plan to upgrade the courts and changing room with this money. Total project costs for this upgrade is £21,000. The club have committed £5,000 to the fund. We need to raise the balance.
The project will mean :-
- Replastering of the remaining 3 walls (back wall and doors were done in Stage1). New Tins and the floors sanded and re lined
- Painting of the ceiling, balcony, entrance area
- Plus the current ladies changing rooms will be split to provide both men’s and ladies changing rooms with toilet facilities.
We are approaching local companies for sponsorship of the courts. If you know of someone that might be willing to sponsor, please let me know. We hope to raise a few thousand from sponsorship but we still need some more funds to be able to complete the project.
This is where you as squash members can help with donations to the appeal.
